 Québec City, with a population of 600,000, is the capital of the province and seat of the National Assembly. It has a rich history as the cradle of French civilization in Canada and contains an old city area which is the last remaining walled city in North America, north of Mexico City. The delightful blend of the Old World and the New make Québec City a fascinating destination. Greater Québec also includes Cote-de-Beaupre, Ile d'Orleans, Jacques-Cartier and Portneuf County.
