Canada Day
Canada Day is arguably the most important day in Canadian national life, and is an opportunity for us to communicate to Canadians about Canadian culture and achievements. The crowds that turn out on July 1 are in a mood to enjoy a sense of shared citizenship, to appreciate some of Canada's finest performing artists and to rub shoulders with fellow citizens from other parts of the country. The celebration draws not only residents of the Capital Region, but also many visitors.

National Capital Dragon Boat Race Festival
The Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival is part of a larger Chinese cultural tradition that goes back 2,400 years. It began on the life-sustaining riverbanks in the valleys of southern China as a fertility rite performed to ensure bountiful crops. The first participants held their celebration on the fifth day of the lunar month of the Chinese calendar.

Ottawa Folk Festival
The CKCU Ottawa Folk Festival has been a spectacular success since its inception in 1994. The festival was established to showcase Canada's folk traditions through music, dance, storytelling and crafts.
