| When on Parliament Hill, take a tour of the Centre Block to see the Senate, the House of Commons and the Hall of Honour. Tours do not go to the Senate and House of Commons chambers when Parliament is sitting, however, you may watch the proceedings from the Public Galleries. Also visit the East Block with grand old offices restored to the way they looked during the Confederation era. Don't miss the view from the Peace Tower observation deck. | Welcome to Rideau Hall, where every Governor General has lived and worked since Canada's birth in 1867. Throughout the year, tours of Rideau Hall give you a chance to walk through Canada's history. Guided tours are free and last 45 minutes, and the grounds are open from 8 a.m. to one hour prior to sunset. If you have a group of ten people or more, we ask that you make a reservation 48 hours in advance by calling one of the above telephone numbers. |
